Welcome to the Crestone Mountain Zen Center
Crestone Mountain Zen Center
is a Zen Buddhist monastic practice and retreat
center in Colorado. It offers residential training
in Zen meditation and practice under the guidance
of Abbot and Head Teacher Zentatsu
Baker-roshi, Dharma Heir of Shunryu Suzuki-roshi.
Zen practitioners are welcome to join
the residential practice for Ango (the annual
90-day winter Practice Period), Sesshin, Seminars
and Work Practice. From May through December the
Center is open for individual guests and retreatants
to enjoy the beauty, quiet, and isolation of the
Crestone mountains and practice with the residential
community.
During the Summer
Guest Season the retreat facilities are available
for a variety of retreats, workshops and conferences,
including meditation from different wisdom traditions,
yoga, music, dance, bodywork and psychotherapy.
Crestone Mountain Zen Center is located
on the western slope of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains
overlooking the San Luis Valley – one of
the most remote and dramatically beautiful areas
in North America. Nestled against the rugged 14,000
foot peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and
surrounded by 230 acres Piñon Pine and
Juniper forest, the beauty and seclusion of our
Center provide an unique environment for contemplation
and inquiry.

using our facilities for your groups, please contact
