In early December, we asked the Sangha and all of our guests and supporters to support our energy efficiency projects – Phase One of our larger Zero Carbon vision. Today, we’re excited to share with you that we reached our $25,000 fundraising goal and even exceeded it by $3,000.
This means we can now go forward with all of the planned energy efficiency projects (smart thermostats, LEDs, window and wall insulation) and complete them this winter.
Again, a big thank you to the many donors who made this happen!
We can even begin to plan for Phase Two, converting the campus from propane to solar. As a first step, we want to hire a mechanical engineer to formulate a schematic plan that spells out the necessary infrastructure changes for each building and the campus as a whole.
You can keep giving to this campaign. Any additional funds will help us to prepare for the campus-wide conversion to solar energy, the heart of our Zero Carbon effort.
We’re looking forward to a transformative year 2018!
